If you’ve ever been interested in the world of wine, but have never had the time, resources, or confidence to learn more about it? Are you curious as to what wine professionals mean when they talk about “fruity” vs “dry” or what on earth minerality means? Are you afraid to ask those questions for fear of being judged? Have you gone to tastings hosted by various wine professionals but then felt pressured into buying several bottles?
If you have answered yes to at least 1 of the above questions, then this is the class for you.
In the first of this fall’s newest series, Tara invites you to join her in the Get Cooking studio to learn about wine and your own palate. In this safe environment, we’re going to explore how your palate works, what the noble grapes are, and some basic food and wine pairing. Questions are encouraged! Round table discussions make us all more savvy.
This class series is aimed for people who are relatively new to the world of wine and have a genuine interest in learning more. Over the course of the next few months, each class explores your palate, and will specialize in several of the main grape varieties and we will explore together what the flavours are and what they actually mean to you, and we will both learn the language of wine as well as translate that language to your individual palate.
Tonight’s class is about exploring your palate and we will taste varietally correct examples of the 6 noble grapes.
This is an 18+ class. We encourage responsible sampling and alternative transportation home as drinking and driving will not be tolerated.
Class Fee: $45 per person, plus GST. Your Fee Includes: Each class will be tasting a minimum of 6 wines, literature and history about the grapes and the wines served, and a signature Get Cooking recipe to pair with the wines. And hopefully a new respect for your palate!
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel your booking you must do so no less than 14 days prior to the date of your class in order to receive a refund. Cancellations within 2 weeks of a class will not be refunded or rescheduled.
