Join Shannon and learn how to use Sweet Potatoes, a pantry staple, to make her Plant-Based Gratin of Satay Style Sweet Potato, with Coconut. Shannon will also introduce you to a lesser know ingredient from our pantry, as she integrates Mung Beans with seared Greens to accompany your gratin. And she’ll teach you a Green Salad incorporating Mung Beans, for a seasonal alternative, too. Our gratin makes an easy and delicious meal whether you’re on a plant-based diet, or looking for some tasty alternatives for adding plant-based dishes into your weekly routine.
*Note: Our gratin is 100% plant based and suitable for those on a Vegan diet
Ingredients for Sweet Potato Gratin*: sweet potato, onion, shredded coconut, cilantro
Ingredients for Satay Sauce*: blanched peanuts, Tamarind paste (from steeping tamarind in boiling water), palm sugar, vegetarian fish sauce (or soy sauce), Thai chilis, garlic, lemongrass, galangal, shallot, lime, salt, coconut milk
*please note that we will be discussing potential substitution for ingredients during your class
Class Fee: $15.00 plus GST. Your Fee Includes: A 75 – 90 minute virtual cooking class plus a recipe pack including info on equipment needed. Your recipes will be delivered by email within 24 hours of registration, so you can shop for ingredients and cook along with us during your class if you wish.
Software Requirement: We are using Zoom for our virtual classes. If you aren’t already using Zoom you can download their free app for Windows, Mac, Android or Apple iOS here. Upon purchase, your meeting ID and password will be included in your Event Confirmation email – please be sure to save this information as you will need it to join your class.

Once downloaded Zoom will help you set up your free account then you’re ready to join us. Zoom will prompt you and ask for permission to use your devices camera and audio, please accept the requests. Once logged in click “Join” from the home page and enter your Meeting ID, which will be sent to you by email with your recipes.
