Roll With It. Sushi Basics

Get Cooking

In the best sushi restaurants in Japan, new sushi chefs will often spend the first years of their career focusing only on making perfect sushi rice.  At the Get Cooking studio, Kathryn and Elyse will show you how to make perfect sushi rice at home in a fraction of the time!  Since sushi is much more than just rice you will also learn how to roll gorgeous rolls in all its forms – including basic maki, uramaki (inside out rolls) and temaki (cones).

From the proper preparation of rice to choosing the right fish and accompaniments, this class will provide you with a solid foundation for turning your home kitchen into your own private sushi bar (karaoke optional).  And to round out your experience we’ll also be preparing a selection of tempura as we roll.

Vegetarian substitutions are available on request.

Class Fee: $230, plus GST, for 2 attendees at one work station. Your Fee Includes: a 2 1/2 hour class, an arrival drink and snack, a glass of wine while you roll and your sushi to eat in the studio or to take home.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel your booking you must do so no less than 14 days prior to the date of your class in order to receive a refund. Cancellations within 2 weeks of a class will not be refunded or rescheduled.
