Always a favourite in our kitchen, Pad Thai is deliciously simple to make with the right recipe, and some guidance on ingredients. Join Kathryn for this walk through how to make her Pad Thai with Shrimp, and learn how to substitute the shrimp with Chicken, Beef or Pork, or make a Vegan version of Pad Thai too. Then if you’d like to cook a full Thai meal tonight, you can come back at 6:15 pm and learn how to make Kathryn’s Red Thai Curry.
Ingredients for Pad Thai*: dried rice stick noodles (medium width), shrimp (we like Argentinian wild)*, peanut or unscented oil, shallot, eggs, square pressed tofu, preserved radish, small handful coarsely crushed dry-roasted peanuts, handful of bean sprouts, bunch green onions, cilantro, extra bean sprouts, crushed peanuts and lime wedges (to serve), sriracha sauce (to serve), wok sauce ( grated palm sugar, tamarind water (tamarind pulp soaked with hot water) , fish sauce, lime juice)
** You can substitute a handful of dried shrimp, or alternatively chicken, beef or pork for the shrimp in this recipe.
* Please note that we will be discussing potential substitutions for ingredients during your class.
