Aditya Raghavan is our in house expert on Indian food. Join us, and Addie will immerse you in Indian culture and cuisine as he join him to cook and Indian Vegetarian meal. Aditya’s experience picking up tips, skills, and techniques from Indian housewives and farmers have contributed to his modern interpretation of food found in Indian villages. Connecting people not just with the cuisine, but the ethos of India, Aditya expertly breaks complex concepts down into simpler ideas, taking the time to share the alchemy of Indian cooking. For most people, just learning how to build a curry from scratch is a giant step in the direction of learning Indian food. Time will also be spent on understanding the geography and food culture of India and why certain dishes taste the way they do.

This vegetarian class will feature pesarattu with coconut chutney and mulaga-podi, and a fresh paneer snack; bharli vangi (stuffed baby eggplants cooked in a thick sauce), mooli (radish) paratha;  daal tadka; fried okra pachchadi (coconut oil-fried okra in yogurt); and for dessert, gajar ka halwa (carrot halwa).

Class Fee:  $115 per person, plus GST. Your Fee Includes:  a 3-hour class, a full meal, matched wines, and a recipe pack to take home.

Get Cooking is located within the Residence Building at MacEwan University downtown.  Access is via our patio on the SE corner of the building (see map below).


Passes for free parking in MacEwan University’s West Parkade will be provided whenever you attend a class at Get Cooking. The West Parkade is highlighted in green on the map below.

  • Access to the West Parkade is via 110 street and 104 avenue, the West Parkade is a five story above ground parkade.
  • Take a ticket from the ticket dispenser at the parkade entrance to entry the parkade.
  • On exit insert the entry ticket into the exit payment station followed by the onetime exit voucher, the gate will open.
  • Should you have a problem a help button is located on all entry and exit terminals that will put you in contact with either Transportation Services or Security to assist.
